I do volunteer work of a financial nature for a religious group. Lately I am struggling to get the work done. I wake up at 5:15 in the mornings so I can hit the gym and get showered before DD wakes up at 7:30. In the mornings we go to playgroup or run errands. If we don't go out, she plays at home and I can get work done but I feel bad if I don't pay attention to her. She naps from 12-2, and that is when I should be working, but during that time I like to watch TV for an hour and do cleaning and meal prep. I tell myself I will work after she goes to bed at 8:00, but by then I am tired and feeling lazy. I go to bed at 11:00.
What am I missing, any tips that work for you?
Thanks!
Re: Those who volunteer, when do you get work done?
I volunteer on my town's historical society and I am also the secretary for a club in town. The historical society work is a PITA because i'm the youngest on and they rely on me to do all the computer work....but they seem awed my some of the most basic things so I don't stress about that one too much. The club that I'm the secretary for has me do the minutes and newsletter. I have to force myself to do that work right after my son has gone to bed on the nights right after the meeting- or else it won't get done.
