Stressing out- tell me about bloat and tell me I'm not pg

So DH had the big V back in Dec, so I know this is a long shot, and I should just go to the store and buy a test. But I went to the $ store yesterday and couldnt even bring myself to buy one.

The last week or so, by the end of the day I look like myself at 3-4 months pg. I keep telling myself that its because my abs are STILL separated (I can feel the space in between easily). I am starving and tired all the time, which could just be from nursing but.... its just freaking me out. Has this happened to any else? Is there anything I can do to make it go away if in fact it is some kind of bloat/ stomach muscle issue? I havent been having an indigestion issues either, if that helps.

And yes, I realize I am being stupid and should just go buy the damn test.

  • This might be a stupid question, but have you been drinking lots of water?  I often look bloated if I haven't had enough water to drink, especially in this warmer weather  (well, more bloated - I still have my lovely mama flab).  Also, have you had your thyroid checked lately?  Being hungry/tired/bloated feeling can also be related to your thyroid levels being off.  I'd still buy a test if I were you, just for reassurance.  Then you can drink away the stress. Wink  Hugs to you!

  • Ruh roh! You better get your test on! Although, I'm sure it's something else. :)

  • Until I had my tummy tuck, I looked about 4 months pregnant because of the separation in my abs.  It was worse depending on the day.  I don't think bloat means anything, but get a test if you're worried about it.

  • Test test!  And then get yourself to a physical therapist fast.  I got some really simple exercises that helped a ton with the ab separation and made a big difference.  I went once a week for about a month and did exercises at home and it was so helpful.   I was having back pain too and I was able to take care of both.

My PT is in Woodinville and is a friend if you ever want a rec. She's awesome.

  • They did the check after he had the procedure to make sure no little guys were getting through, right? I bet it is just the separation of your muscles, one of my friends has that and she always feels like she looks about 4 months pregnant. I agree with the others, take the test to be sure (let me know if you want moral support, I can come over!) and then you can work on the muscle thing. I bet Katia could give you some good suggestions too. Having your thyroid checked is a good idea too, good to rule out if nothing else.

    Hugs!
