Anyone have the vtech apple? Reviews?

I saw the VTech Preschool Learning Alphabet Apple  online... Target has it too.  I'm looking to get a gift for a child that just turned 2.  Even though it recommends 3-6 years, I thought it would be a good thing for a child to grow in to....?  Well, especially since so many toys are 12-36 months or 6 mos to 36 months.... and I'm trying to use our $5 vtech coupon.

I saw a few reviews that reported as "flimsy" or someone thought the letters were hard to learn because of the toy asking "what comes before/after"

... so I was curious if anyone has it what you think of it.  A few people also said there used to be an alphabet desk that people liked better then the apple. 

What other vtech toys (or any t`oy) for 2 year old?
