Intro and Dr. rec's?

Hi everyone! I've posted on the nest a little bit, but mostly I lurk. DH and I were married 8/2/08 and we just found out that I'm pregnant. We are very excited, but also quite nervous.

Anyhow, I'm looking for a good OBGYN rec. I live in the Central District so anything on First Hill would be great, but Bellevue would also be okay since I work on MI.

In the past I've just seen the various nurse practitioners to get my annual exam and bc, but now since my appointments will be much more involved I would really like to have great doctor. Any recommendations would me much appreciated. Also, which hospital is considered the best in the area for child birth? I'm guessing there will be more than one, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello & Welcome!

We live in Issaquah but we saw Lauren Pray at NW women's healthcare on first hill.  We loved all the doctor's there and Dr. Levine delivered Graysen and was wonderful.  I highly recommend this group.  I think their website is www.nwwomenshealth.com.

  • Congrats! I live on the eastside but I see Dr. Hanarahan at Seattle Women's Clinic (part of Minor and James) on first hill. She's great but you really can't go wrong with any of the doctors there.

Welcome and here's to a happy healthy 9 months.

  • Like Maddycat, I went to NW Women's Health Care.  I saw Dr. Robert Levine and I loved him.  His wife works there, too, and she's really sweet.  I think her last name is Bomke (or something like that).  All the doctors there are great.  I think Heath Miller delivered a baby on here.  He did Tillman's circumcision and checked on me post-partum.  Great guy, too, but I definitely recommend Dr. Levine.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
  • I delivered at Swedish First Hill.  My OB is Dr. Dawn Scheve at Seattle Women's Clinic, which is in the Nordstrom Tower, adjacent to Swedish.  LOVE HER.  LOVE!  She is great.  Her office is great as well.  She didn't end up delivering Mattie, but we saw 3 other docs from that practice while in L&D and they were all great.  I can't recommend Dr. Scheve enough!  ;)  Congrats and welcome, by the way!  :)

  • I'm in Bellevue and will deliever at Overlake. Dr. Michael Lawler is amazing and I would highly recommend him. It's so much easier when you work somewhere to have your doctor close by.
  • NW WOMENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw Dr. Heath Miller & I have to say I haven't heard of many people that don't love the practice as a whole I have 6 friends who have gone there for their pg & ob services, plus people who have recommended it to me when I was first pg here...

I have personally worked alot with Dr. Boehmke, Dr. Miller & Dr. Levine & Amy Coe the  Nurse Practitioner. WE LOVE THE PRACTICE! & it was conveneint when I lived Dt & was PG.
