What do you think of this gift idea?

Leo is done with preschool for the year tomorrow. :sob:: I'm thinking of getting his teacher flowers, but putting them in a nice vase that she can keep. Do you think she'd like that? Some people are really particular about home decor so I'm not sure.

On a related note, I think I am going to cry tomorrow. Not only because he's all MINE all summer but because I love his teacher and can't believe he won't be in her class anymore! I'm just glad Charlie will be with her next year.

  • I've seen variations of this floating around the internet and think it's pretty cute - https://www.happyclippings.com/2011/04/diy-colored-pencil-vase-teacher-appreciation-gift-ideas.html

  • I'm crying right along with you. Tomorrow is our last day too and I don't know what I am going to do.

I think a vase is a great idea and who doesn't love flowers?!?!

That sounds cute. I saw a vase where they hot glued crayons in the middle (like where the ribbon would go) that was adorable. We are sending the book "Oh the Places you will Go" to school with Emma tomorrow and I am asking the teachers to pick a page and write a note for her. I plan to do this all the way through school then give it to her when she (and Lincoln his own copy) graduates.

    Love this!

  • I think flowers are a really nice idea, but like you, I'd be hesitant about giving someone a nicer vase if I'm not sure if they'd like it or use it. Maybe you could get the flowers wrapped nicely (and this saves you from having to arrange them) and put the vase money toward a Starbucks / Target / Amazon gift card?

Coupled with Rosie's response, this makes the best sense to me.
