Gatlinsburg/Pigeon Forge, Tenn.??

We are going here for summer vacation in a month.  We will have my 5.5 yo, almost 4y.o, two 2 yo, and my almost 1yo.  Any suggestions?  Is Dollyworld worth it?  We plan on going to the mtns for hiking and such.  Any hidden places or must do/see?  TIA.

  • How long are you staying?  We went last July, and although, nice to get away (long weekend), it wasn't all that great.  We rented a cabin thru Timber Tops Rentals (great, BTW) near Pigeon Forge.

The Aquarium was nice, there was a go-cart place there in PF that had a small-ishride area (maybe 10 or so rides) for little kids that was fun for them, and we played mini golf a couple times.  Other than that, PF if not a walk-around type town, and Gatlinburg is not stroller friendly (esp for a double - the twins were 10 mos old).

  • Loading the player...
  • we really like the bird place (parrot mountain)...pretty gardens and you can feed some of the birds.
  • We're hoping to go there this summer for a conference for 16p11.2 syndrome..
  • Thank you all for your suggestions...we are going for a week and staying at RiverStone Resort which is in Pigeon Forge.  Hopefully a week won't be too long :o)

  • There are 2 indoor water parks in the area that were a lot of fun.  Wild Bear Falls in Gatlinburg and Wilderness at the Smokies.  My 3 year old had a blast at Wild Bear Falls and the roof is retractable so if it's a nice day, they'll open the top, otherwise, they can close it so you can still play on rainy days.
