stupid bouncer! wwyd?

I received a fisher price bouncer w/calming vibrations as a shower gift for DD. It recently stopped vibrating (even w/several new batteries) unless you smack the living shiit out of it. It's been getting worse and worse. She only sleeps in her bouncy at night with it vibrating. The crib is out of the question. The problem here is that although I do have the target gift receipt, it expired 4/14/11. So wwyd? Try to take it to target anyway (w/o the box), or call fisher price, or what?? DD is only 2 1/2 months old... that's a little ridiculous to be broken, if you ask me... Please share your thoughts/opinions!! TIA.

  • I would call Fisher Price.  Their customer service department is excellent.  They will be able to tell you what to do to fix it or send replacement parts, etc.

They won't make me pay for anything, right? I don't think that's fair -- I think the product was faulty! It's a great product, mine's just a dud I believe...

She wouldn't be able to tell you that. The motor might be going bad if it's running all night.

  • I would call Fisher Price. They will probably send you a new part at no cost. They want to keep you buying their products so they want you to be happy.
  • Lol I know she can't, I'm just frustrated. I usually turn it off when I know she's in a deep sleep though.

  • I'm not sure if your bouncer had this or not- most products come with a registration card that you fill out & send back to FP.  I know my FP swing had one.  With DD1's swing (this was 6 years ago though), the motor went bad and they sent me a replacement for free after they looked up my registration info and saw the date of purchase.

HAHA! Yes, but I have to do it one-handed when I want to put her in it after rocking her... only downside!! Lol. I can't kick it as it's in her crib.

  • I just had this happen to me with a FP bouncer from Target. I did online chat with FP and told them that the bouncer did not vibrate (mine never would at all). They asked me if I had changed the batteries. She then said it must be defective and they sent me a mailing voucher to return the bouncer fabric seat and the tube (vibration part?) to them. They are going to send me a 33.00 voucher to get a new bouncer.
