I know it's different for everyone, but what worked for you?
I had unprotected sex with my husband the other day and guess what: I lost a BIG part of my mucus plug that night around midnight. (I'm full term now). I was all hyped up! He was like, "I'll never do it again!" He's so scared of making me go into labor, it's like DUH- it's going to happen anyway, don't keep me away from my goals! So now he's out of my scheme, and I'm on my own. I've been cleaning the house, but all it does it give me crappy painful contractions and nothing happens.
What REALLY worked for you guys????
Re: Surefire ways to induce labor at home...
Reagrdless of full term or not, nothing's going to work if your body and baby aren't ready.
OWTs I've tried are: pineapple, mangos, sex, spicy food, walking, nipple stimulation...none have worked yet.
Nothing worked for me with DS #1, this time around I will be trying a trick that DS #1 preschool teacher swears by.
She has gone into labor with all 5 children, says her grandmother swore by it years ago and has even insisted it to a few other moms at the preschool.
Swinging, like at the playground, she says to swing for about 45 min. making sure to pump your legs extra hard, apparently it moves the baby down in position.
One of the moms actually had her baby last week after trying this earlier in the day.
I am definately going to try it, I am not about to be induced again !

With this technique, I think your body has to already be partially ready because I've been doing the same thing for back problems (which really helps) and nothing has happened for me. To be perfectly honest I don't really want anything to happen right now since I'm still pretty early.
I am going to try this later! I have a swing in my backyard, but never knew how long or how strongly I should do it. I've gotten on for like 5 min then get scared that I'm gonna fall off or hurt the Lo for doing too much lol.
Black and Blue Cohosh (homeopathics) and time. I went into 'spontaneous' labour at 42 weeks 3 days. Had the baby the next day.
Just enjoy your time with just you and DH - go out to eat, have dates, etc. - live it up, because once baby comes you've got 6 weeks+ of hell adjusting, and then it'll get better.
I am going to try this today!!
That's a new one. Intriguing too.

Just don't leave home. Eventually you'll go into labor.
I don't know whether anything can "make" you go into labor. Some things may contribute to helping the pelvis spread (which leads to/is labor), but I think a lot of it may be coincidental timing, too, and people just attribute it to x, y, or z.
