Hi girls.... I am child-free, not by choice. We're not using BC, and we are looking into fostering, but there's a good chance it could be just DH and me for a loooong time, if not forever.

I really want to find ways to be okay with that... It's really hard. I'm excited to have some buddies who are also having to change their idea of what a perfect family will look like.

I'm child free (childless, whatever the appropriate term is) and not by choice.  DH and I have been married almost 8 years.  We have been ttc for 7 years.  I have PCOS and early ovarian failure, DH also has male factor IF.  We lost a little boy 3 years ago at 17 weeks due to Downs.  We had a CP last month.  The only step we have left if IVF with PGD.  It's not the right step for us, we financially can't afford it at $30,000 and they are giving us less than a 5% chance of it working.

Fostering isn't a current option because of our home, it's 112 years old and needs a lot of work to be made to the code that is required for fostering.  I also truly believe that DH and I need to come to a peace about being childless before fostering or else we will be putting too much pressure on the child to fill that empty hole in our hearts.

I'm here because I want to meet others who are going through the same struggles and somehow learn how to find a peace and contentment about this.

Hi Dandy. I am looking for some ways to be ok with out kids too. Some days are better than others.

Right now I'm trying to focus on our awesome dog, DH, and fixing up our 100+ year old house. Looking forward to ripping down this old plaster...a little scared what we might find though.

It would be great to make some friends thats arent going to "graduate" and leave me in the dust ya know?
