I know some of yall have seen this on facebook already but I thought I would share on here as well. We are about 95% complete with my DD's "big girl" room. Her nursery is pretty gender neutral so we will be re-using it for DS.
The room has been a DIY project for a few months. I sewed the drapes, duvet cover and bedskirt. I bought the rocker and antique bed frame on craigslist. I then painted and destressed the bedframe and the dresser that we already had. Also added new hardware to the dresser.
I actually salvaged the lamps from some neighbors who were throwing them out and repainted them and made custom lampshades with the coordinating fabric. Now all that's left is to get some matching pillow shams made (I'm not great at sewing pillows) and put in DD's bed rails on the bed and we are done. I'm excited!!
Re: AW: DD's big girl room!
The room looks so good. Perfect for a big girl. Also, I'm jealous of your mad decorating skills and your craftiness.
It turned out really cute. Also you were just the person I was wanting to get in touch with. You had made a slideshow of Kennedy for her 1st year...can you tell me what software you used or what site you went to to make it? TIA
I'll have to ask my husband about what software it was. I can't remember exactly, although I believe it was something Microsoft related that came on our laptop when we bought it.

Just noticed pip of what you called "DD's big girl room!". Wow! That's one elegant, fantastic room she has there. She's one lucky young lady. I must agree with others you're one talented mom.
