Would it be weird?

To bring my mom to my first appointment/US. My DH just started a new job so he really can't ask for the time off, but I don't want to go alone(partically cuz I think it will be exciting and partially because if something is wrong I'll need support) My mom and I are very close. Do you think it would seem weird if I brought her?

Nope not at all. I'm in the exact same position. My DH just started a new job and can't really ask off either. I'm definitely going to have my mom come along but probably not until they can do the external u/s

No way! I think thats awesome that she will be able to go with you so do not go alone!

Nope not at all!  My mom came to my NT scan with my daughter because MH could not get the day.  It also happened to be my birthday so it was nice to spend the day with my mom.

I vote Not Weird at all.  I think it is great she can be there to support you.  When is the big day?

Not at all, we originally didnt think DH would be able to come to my first u/s so I had asked my MIL to come because her and i are very close.

Not weird at all.  I am super close to my mom.  If DH could not make it, I would ask my mom to come in a heartbeat.  GL at your 1st appt.

I don't think it would be weird at all. I considered doing it as well when my DH was unsure if he was going to be able to make it. My mom got so excited when I asked her and I think it broke her heart when I told her he was going to be able to get work off. Poor thing, I'll definitely have to have her come to a different one some time. So I say yes, definitely ask her to come! It would not only make her day but also give you someone to share this exciting moment with right away!!
