Re: ***Weekly PG Check-In***

  • Yay for the baby boom of last week and yay for the baby boom that's about to come!

QOTW: I've only allowed myself to buy one single piece of new boy clothing for Dos--everything else has been second hand or hand-me-downs. It's a cute little green onesie with an elephant on it. I swoon.

Update: I was awake 'til about 1 a.m. last night timing contractions. They were sporadic (every 3-8 minutes) and not lasting very long. Just annoying enough to keep me awake. I finally got up, had a snack, and then we did a hypno exercise to get me to sleep where I was able to sleep through them the rest of the night. I am feeling only a hint of them this morning at work. It's so funny--you wait and wait and wait and then when you think it might be time, you get all nervous! Anywho . . . hoping that this is my last pg check-in. :-)

The 39.5-week belly. Despite all the crazy stares I get these days, I love that I carry my kiddos all belly, all totally out front. :-)

    Dear Bump: You suck.

  • Congrats to Mrs. Purdue and Fly!

Rssn--this better be your last PG check-in or else!  I'm telling you, if you go to book club tonight, we'll be reading your posts from L&D tomorrow. Wink

QOTW:  I haven't even started to think that far ahead yet.  Once we find out if we're having a girl or a boy, we'll start to think about it.

Updates: Finally starting to feel like my all day nausea is subsiding.  I still don't feel great, but I feel so much better than I did, which makes me realize just how bad I was feeling.  My anxiety is also starting to get better.  Not great, but a little more manageable.  No real bump yet, just looks like my muffin top is getting out of control.  :)

  • I'm just starting the 2WW so I'm not checking in, but I had to butt in and say Rssn you look amazing! And that color is awesome on you. Bask in all the PG glow while you can because I predict another book club baby :)
  • Congrats to our new mommies!  Fingers crossed for you rssn.

QOTW: I actually just bought a blue and white striped onsie this weekend that will probably be his coming home outfit.  I haven't bought any new clothes and don't really plan to, but I thought he should have at least one outfit that is his own and not a hand me down from his brother.

Update:  Just chugging along, I'm in the good place of not being too big yet and out of the icky stage.  Went to visit a friend last night that just had a baby and I can't believe I'm going to have a baby that small again!

  • Congrats to all the new mamas with their babies!
Froggi - you totally freaked me out when I saw you in here ;-)

Rssn -  what can I say?  I've been selfishly wanting to see you go early so it would give me hope too :-)  See you at bookclub?  Or not because you'll already be at the hospital :-)  Lots of labor dust!!!!

QOTW:  I have no idea....I really haven't started to think about any of those details yet. Hmm, maybe I should.  Or maybe if I'm totally unprepared this time I will actually go into labor before 42 weeks ;-)

Update:  We had our sonogram last week, and my next appt. is on Monday.  I'm back to measuring 2 cm ahead (instead of 3) so that's good.  Oh, and my parents booked their flights to come out here the week before my due date so I'm hoping I don't actually go too early!

  • Big congrats to the new mommies!!  Rssn - I'm going to miss your pics, your bump is so adorable.  :-)  And ditto the beautiful color of your shirt!

QOTW - Um, I have no clue.  Not sure if we'll get a boy and a girl outfit and use the appropriate one or if we'll just get something neutral.  We'll probably go the neutral route b/c I hate to buy something that will be useless.

Updates - Nothing going on here, just plugging right along.  Starting to get what I guess is heartburn here and there.  It is only in my throat and just lasts for a few minutes, so I'm thankful for that.  The doc's office called me yesterday to let me know that they are cancelling my birth class since we would be the only couple there, so I need to figure something out for that.  I'm trying not to stress about it, but hello, there are only +/- 12 weeks left people!   I'll be asking for rec's in another post.

  • Congrats to all the new mommies/babies last week, and Rssn - it sounds like you probably need to go to book club.

I haven't thought at all about a coming home outfit.  I think I have some time to figure it out...

I'm feeling... "meh".  Some nausea/queasiness everyday, just enough to annoy me and almost make wish I could just vomit because I'm convinced it would make me feel better.  And ex-haus-ted.  All.the.time.  I'm feeling really guilty because our house is pretty much a wreck right now because I've had no energy to clean (our unspoken rule is:  I do inside chores, he does outside chores, we split the dishes).  I'm not getting any flack from DH about it, and I don't expect to, but I still feel guilty.  But not guilty enough to start scrubbing floors.  Also, and worst of all - I feel absolutely HUGE.  I'm not even 9 weeks, and already I feel like all my clothes are too small and I'm setting out to be a big huge fat pg lady again like last time, when I was really hoping that I'd be more of the cute, slimmer variety this time around!  I shouldn't complain, because the nausea and exhaustion has left me completely unmotivated to get any real good exercise in, so hopefully I can get off my butt soon and start at least toning up and getting some decent cardio.  I guess that's about it.

  • congrats again mrs.purdue, fly & wheninrome!

rssn - love the bump and the shirt! lots of labor dust to you!

QOTW: one of the first boy things i bought right after we found out it was a boy is his coming home outfit. it's this carters onesie and frog pants & hat.

Update: nothing really to udate. i did do some baby laundry this past weekend so we're getting a little closer to getting everything together.

  • Congrats on all the new babies. And rssn I don't think we'll be seeing you next week :)

we found out last week we're having another girl! So I think I'll have lots to choose from for a coming home outfit. I'm feeling good, but now we are kind of freaking out about getting the big girl room done for DD

  • congrats to the purdue and fly babies!

    yay for contractions, rssn!

QOTW:  I have a little onesie pant thingie and a pair of pants and a top, along with some mittens, socks, hat.  I think he should be OK.  MH thinks I'm crazy because I packed two outfits, he can shut it.

update: nothing new;(  no contractions, no progress other than the 3cm/80% effacement of last week.  this lightning (ETA: I forgot the word crotch. lightning crotch) business is OOC though, and it's getting worse.  I would notice it more when I was on my feet, but I felt it the minute I stood up this morning.  the kid is going to get the eviction notice soon!  my OB offered to strip my membranes again yesterday (she offered last week, too), but I declined since I've heard it's quite painful?  I'll take her up on the offer if I make it to my 40-week appt next tues.

OK, off to go for a walk and bounce on my ball...

  • Edited because I didn't say congrats to the new moms!  Shame on me!

I can be added to the list!  Soooo exciting!! :)

    Nestie Name: Adamskitten

EDD: 12/9/11 (it feels soooo soon!)

Prediction of baby's sex: DH is hoping for a boy, we have VERY strong girl genes from his side, though, so I am leaning towards a girl - we still have a few weeks before we will know for sure!  I wanted it to be a suprise, but DH is insistent about finiding out.

QOTW:  I have nooooo idea yet!  I am still going crazy about the fact that I am pregnant!  :)  I am sure I will pick something shortly after we find out if we are having a boy or a girl

Updates: I am just ready to be through withthe first trimester!  About two more weeks, I believe!  I have been sick and constantly hungry all at the same time.  And I could nap for 10 hours a day if I had the opportunity.  All is well though, just very excited, emotional, anxious, nervous, etc.  We have our NT scan next Monday - I am so excited to see the baby again, but not thrilled about having another thing to worry about until the results come in. I actually seriously debated not doing the scan, but if we didn't we wouldn't get to see the baby again until 16 weeks and I am just not that patient!  Everything makes me worry!  I am hoping as the pregnancy progresses I will quit being such a worrier.

On a non-baby related note - I interviewed for a part time job and have gotten called back for a second interview.  I decided to tell them I was pregnant in my first interview, because I wanted to be honest with them... I was sure they take me out of the running after that - but they didn't!!! I have a second interview this week :)  YAY!

The possibility of changing jobs brought another set of issues to deal with - switching me to DH's insurance, making sure that pregnancy isn't considered pre-existing... making sure there is no waiting period... making sure Dr. Seeker IS actually still in network with UHC. Sheesh!  Lots going on - but it is all good :)

  • congrats to all the new mamas!  lots of smooth/come on labor dust to rssn!!

QOTW: we'll probably just do a little footed sleeper like we did with max...nothing fancy:)

overall i have been feeling really good.  sleep has been a little more uncomfortable this time around...my hips get really achy from sleeping on my sides...stupid!  we go for our anatomy scan tomorrow so we are super excited about that.  DH still thinks girl, as does everyone else so i'm going with boy just to be different:)

    Congrats to the new babies!

    Rssn... Labor dust to you!!!

QOTW: I haven't even thought about a coming home outfit! I think I'll wait until after my shower which is in two and a half weeks or I just might make her a lil dress or something. :-)

Update: Not much to update. Last weekend we basically finished baby girl's room...all the furniture is put together and in there, now I just have to decorate it. I've been feeling great pg-wise. I have noticed heartburn/reflux lately but nothing some tums can't fix!

  • Congrats to MrsPurdue, Fly and wheninrome!

C'mon out, Dos! Rssn- I think you need to go to book club and watch Pearl Harbor and then NYC Prep and then Pearl Harbor again.

QOTW: We decided to just do a "My First Halloween" outfit for the coming home outfit since we're not finding out the sex and want something gender neutral.

Updates: Feeling good. Pretty much over the m/s, but I still have an over-active gag reflex.  Anatomy scan is 2 weeks from today- looking forward to seeing a healthy baby.

  • congrats to all the babies! its exciting and scary to see my name moving up the list!

QOTW: my sister brought me a ton of clothes this weekend so as soon as i wash it and go through it this weekend ill probably just pick something from there. although i did buy an adorable yellow onesie with a lion on it, its one of like 3 pieces of clothing ive bought, so maybe we'll use that.

Updates: Things are going really well! Had my shower this weekend and the nursery is stocked. just a small to-do list left that i hope to tackle this weekend and then we can sit back and wait for the baby to arrive :) although i really wish i knew how much time i actually had left!

  • Congrats to Purdue, Fly, and Wheninrome!

Good luck to Rssn, Ssinnica (sp?), and CIA!

QOTW: One of the onsies hand-painted by my amazing friends.

Update: I've got a funky cold, but I must sheepishly admit that the (ob-approved) cold meds have actually improved my mood. I feel more chill than I have in weeks.

  • grr... trying to post a belly pic, and the bump & chrome don't get along. i'll add it to my siggie and just try to update it from there each week.

congrats to mrspurdue, flywife and wheninrome!

QOTW: haven't bought any clothes yet. we'll probably do that much closer to the due date to have a special coming home outfit. since each of our 5 sisters have at least a boy, we are getting TONS of hand-me-down clothes. most will be 2T and up so we'll probably need to do a bit of shopping for infant sizes.

updates: just got back from our 2 week trip to germany yesterday. got to drink a lot of alcohol free beer (which tastes amazing over there), so it *almost* felt like cheating. felt good even with all the train rides, long flight and 8 hours of walking each day. the baby's been kicking me a lot more and sitting on my bladder because i had to pee a lot on the trip, spending 50 cents to 1 euro each time (no free public bathrooms). belly's really popping out now!

  • We had our sonogram today to check on baby's heart arrhythmia.  The doctor detected no arrhythmia (yay!) and said everything looked great and healthy.  I am so relieved.  We got to watch baby for a long time, but mostly saw ribs, since they were focusing on the heart.

We did our hospital tour today and I decided on a pediatrician.  In true cia-style, I am checking things off right down to the wire.  Up next: pack the bag and pre-register at the hospital.  I love seeing friends' eyes get all wide when they hear I am just taking care of these things now!  And no, we do not have the carseat installed yet. ; )

But I do have a coming home outfit!  We have been calling the baby "Dot" and so the coming home outfit is a cute onesie with polka dots on it.
