Has anyone started to lube up their belly to prevent stretch marks??? If so what are you using??? For the second time moms...does this strategy really work?
I swear by Queen Helene's Cocoa Butter. It comes in a giant bottle at any drug store. I don't have any stretch marks from DD, and it made the stretch marks on my boobs lighten significantly. However, I did have a little pooch to start with, which may have assisted in the ease of stretching...
Stretchmarks are more hereditary than anything. I'm sure the girl who ended up with stretchmarks wherever she itched, did so with good reason. You itch when your skin is being stretched beyond it's point of elasticity.
Wish there were a cure in a bottle.

I bought the stuff at motherhood maternity yesterday in the blue tub....bump butter I think it is called. It smells delightful. No idea if it works, but it is silky, smooth, and smells good.
It is a serious waste of money. I spent a fortune on bio-oil, etc. Its all genetics and weight gain, I promise. I gained a healthy 26 pounds but had a huge belly and stretch marks that started at 24 weeks and are just now starting to fade...just in time for LO #2!
Just stay at a healthy weight and don't stress if you get them--lots of women do
Breast-feeding, co-sleeping, Christian SAHM and wife.

I have heard the same thing, healthy wt and heredity will determine stretch marks. I asked my Mom if she had any and she said no but a couple of my friends swore by Carol's Daughter Sexy Belly. I ordered some justbto be on the safe side. One thing I like bat it is it is unscented so if you want something w/o a scent then you will love it.

I'm 11wks and I use the cocoa butter with lavender tummy butter for strech marks from the motherhood and shea body butter from the body shop everyday after i shower. I put the tummy butter anywhere i'm afraid i'll get marks: tummy, top of my bum, breasts and arms (my sis's arms got kinda big...) and the shea butter everywhere else. I've seen some lightening of my existing marks on the top of my bum My dr said stretch everyday and excercise as much as possible...that will increase bloodflow to your skin and joints etc, and eat a healthy diet. Hope this helps
Re: Stretch mark lube???
It helps w/ itching not necessarily stretchmarks. But I once knew a girl who would end up w/ stretch marks wherever she itched.
I love the stuff @ Motherhood maternity in the blue bottle. Smells SO good

I used Bella B Tummy Honey Butter - probably started around 10 weeks or so. I would just use it everytime I got out of the shower.
It worked for me, but my belly didn't get too big with the 1st pregnancy.
