So my kiddos are currently doing a powerpoint research project on the Gulf oil spill (we are studying life cycles, food chains, environment).
I've taught them how to search google images, which obviously has some risk involved but it truly has the best images available. We've discussed what happens if something inappropriate pops up, they shut the computer and come straight over to me.
My group that is researching oill spill's effects on ocean life searched "whale tail" to put on their final slide.
Any guesses as to what images came up? I dare you to take a look, lol! Ah, good times in the third-grade classroom!

I don't think I want to know.
ETA: Classy, also, I've never heard it called "whale tail" before. We mostly just call it trashy around here.

If the kids use it for images just have them use the term images for example "whale tail images" and they should not see you know stuff like the 1st picture
