WWYD? 4 hours and counting

Would you wake your kid?

We never let him sleep beyond 4 or he wont go to bed at 8pm, but he has never taken a 4 hour nap before.  He slept perfectly last night....

I am at a loss for what to do.

Re: WWYD? 4 hours and counting

  • I don't let my kids sleep past 4:30 for the same reason as you, they won't go to bed.  I would wake him up.

  • I would be doing a little happy dance!! But seriousy if it were after 5pm I would wake him up, but it's 3:30. Still very early to mess up bedtime at least in our house.
  • id wake him

  • I would probably let him sleep. The few times T has done that meant something was going on (getting sick or teeth or something) and we found that he still went to bed relatively close to the same time, but if we woke him he was a cranky beast. Plus, you can use this time to study for some of those lovely finals :-) But now that you asked about it, he'll probably wake up anyways...

  • Thanks ladies.  I just turned looked at the video and he rolled over, smiled and started waving at the camera.  So he woke on his own.  *WHEW*

  • I'm so jealous, Charlie has never taken more than a 3 hour nap. Today he took a ten min nap. :( Bedtime will come sooner tonight!
