SAHM, we watch no TV. DH and I watch practically none ourselves, anyway. I so errands when Liam sleeps (he takes two naps daily, usually two hours each) - if I can't manage to get things done in those four hours, I'd side-eye myself. And no, I don't watch TV then, either
For arguments sake, let's say you think the studies about TV before 2 are all hype. I don't get the "they have nothing to do" reasoning. EVERYTHING in their world is new! Wouldn't holding a piece of tin foil in front of your face entertain them just as well?
::steps off soapbox::
My son was intrigued with one of his plastic plates this morning, a blue one - he was having so much fun holding it in front of his face and watching the world turn blue, haha.
ITA, anyway. I think as adults, we feel TV is entertainment, and assume the same for babies. Babies can have much more fun doing other things. I'm pregnant, so you know how often I need to use the restroom... I've never needed TV to watch my kid in order to use it, that's what his toys and babyproofed room are for.
