Do you consult with your RE regarding your diet?

I am considering the 4 Hour Body program, and I was wondering if I should ask my RE if it's ok.  I'm not cycling until July and would plan to be done utilizing 4 Hour Body to lose weight by mid-June.  Thoughts?

I haven't ever, but I don't do "diets".  I'm not familar w/4 hr body, what does it entail?  What you do now can affect your eggs, so while losing weight (if you need to) is always a good idea, I wouldn't undertake any extreme diet if you are cycling soon.  GL!

Only if I'm going to do something out of the ordinary. I would at least call a nurse to get the OK first if I thought it could interfere with anything.

4 hour body is a slow carb diet.  I was a little apprehensive when I found out you needed to take supplements, but the main one is calcium since you cannot have dairy while on the diet. 

Currently, I've been trying to eat smaller portions and exercise like a madwoman.  I've been at it for 5 weeks so far and have only lost 5 pounds.  I feel like such a failure.  I'm sure my hypothyroidism doesn't help, but it's so discouraging.  I want to be really healthy going into my cycle.

My RE discussed weight loss with me today.  He suggested "caveman style" (fruits, veggies, lean proteins ... no sugar/flour). I'm online trying to find a protein powder for the smoothies he suggested I drink ... and I'm not sure if I can get one with soy or not.  I've heard such mixed things.  So I just emailed my nurse.  Who would have ever thought that I would ask this sort of thing, but I'm not doing anything to f*)#@ with my cycle.

Yea i would definitely at least make a phone call to the office / your nurse contact there, my RE is very hands on with all aspects, so he will give a lot of info regarding other aspects of health, not just IF, he's great, so yea, i'd definitely just bring it up!
