BOMB check in

Hey girls!

Hope everyone is doing well and sticking to it!  I got a call last night to sub a Jazzer Body Sculpting class tonight, so yay for an extra workout.  I though I was screwed on my walking b/c of the rain!  :)

Todays question:  recommend a food product that you LOVE that is healthy alternative to some thing sinful.

Mine is an awesome find my WW leader told me about:  Litehouse Yogurt Bleu Cheese Salad dressing with Probiotics.  It's found in the cold case of dressing in the produce section, near the bagged lettuce and veg.  It doesn't have any of that artificial taste of "lite" salad dressing and it's 2 points for 2 tbspns!

Last night the boys had BLTs and I had a BLT salad.  Tons of lettuce & tomatoes, 4 slices of bacon chopped up and that dressing, the whole big non-diet tasting AT ALL salad was 8 points.  Awesome.

  • Hi All!

I got in a nice workout yesterday and am planning on going to the gym and/or running with friends tonight as well.   I am also attempting to track everything I eat!  We will see how long I can keep this up!

Hmm, a food product I love....Bagel Thins are great!  And now they have the cinnamon raisin flavor!  These taste just like bagels but less calories!  Also, PB2 is a great alternative to peanut butter!

  • I am doing great.  I have only been doing WW a few days (almost a week) and FINALLY my plateau has ended.  I had lost 10 pounds on my own and was stunted, but I weighed myself today (even though tomorrow is my weigh day) and I am down 2 pounds...and it is "that time" for me...and usually I gain like 5 pounds of water bloat during this time...none of that!  I think I have really found my answer.  I seem to be awesome at counting my points and I get a thrill out of figuring out meals.  I am such a control freak.

This feels like GD all over again in some ways...except more flexibility, so it feels easy and "fun."

As for the foods...I am not sure, I am still new to points so I will see what you all write and it might give me some ideas.

Other than that, I am making white chili today and 2 cups is 4 points.  I am praying it tastes as amazing as it smells in my crockpot right now.

  • Not sure if this is the right place to post this but... I'm finally getting over my cold so on the way to the grocery store I stopped at a local gym to take a tour. They had me leave G in the kid zone while I did the tour and I found that to be really difficult.

(A little CW) After having G I've struggled with some anxiety and I have never left him with strangers before. Heck I hardly even leave him with DH. I've been seeing a therapist and her homework for me was to sign up for a gym and leave him with their day care service while I take some "me" time. Last week I went to our local sports center and the daycare place there gave me a weird vibe. This place seemed pretty friendly and welcoming so I took a deep breath and left G with the ladies there while I went off on the tour.

He didn't seem to care at all when I left. In fact he crawled off to go climb on some older kids. When I came back though they had stuck him in a jumperoo thing. He was sitting in it looking kind of bored. The woman said that she had put him in there because he was pulling up on their cubbies and pulling things out of it. Then as I was leaving with G the woman kind of sternly told another kid to stop running. I don't know. I feel like maybe I'm looking for any reason to not like the place, but at the same time I want him to be safe. How can I possibly relax and work out if I am worried about him?

Anyway, so now I'm sitting here weighing all my options and deciding whether or not I want to sign up with them or the other sports center. Ugh. I'm thinking I might not even sign up at all. I don't know!

As for foods: I have replaced bread with rice cakes and it's usually pretty good. :)

  • I kicked A$$ yesterday!!!! I did 3.5 miles on the treadmill at the gym in 55 min.  I never thought I'd be able to do 3 miles let alone 3.5.  This give me more confidence to do a 5K.  Oh and my trainer was there and he was so proud of me.  Can I just say I LOVE my gym!!  Everyone there is so great!

As for food there really isn't anything I substitute.  I just try to eat less and use portion control.

My favorite substitution is still greek yogurt in place of sour cream, mayo, or anything else I can get away with. That stuff is so handy!

  • My AW for the day:

When I started the Couch to 5k running program I was so out of shape I could hardly run for 60 seconds straight. Today my training run consisted of 3 minute runs. For the very first time I am thinking I could actually RUN a 5k if I stick to the program!

My favorite healthy alternative to sinful food is kale chips. They satisfy my crunchy/ salty craving.

I also love Raw Energy Balls (https://www.nourishingmeals.com/2008/11/gluten-free-snacks.html) I'm a big fan of healthy fats in nuts and avocados and this is packed with them, but eating it is almost like eating raw cookie dough.

  • Back on track today after a three day hiatus. Need to figure out some better weekend strategies. Went to the gym this morning even though I'm sick.

I love the trader joe's 100 calorie dark chocolate bars; I can convince myself that they're healthy (dark chocolate IS good for you, and don't tell me if I've been misinformed!) and I don't eat more than one since they're rich and individually packaged.

  • GREAT job everyone!!!!

My favorite treat is a 90 Calorie Fiber One Bar, it tastes like candy to me and keeps me full for a while.  It can have some, ahem, side effects if you aren't used to the fiber, but they are yummy!
