Talk me down, ladies...

I'm sitting here at work freaking out.  Today is DD's first day at daycare.  It's sort of a nanny situation in that she's the only child there, but we take her to the nanny's house.  I've called 3 times to check on her, and gotten no answer all 3 times.  I got a text from the nanny at 11:20 am (after my first phone call, when I asked for a call back) that said Audrey was sleeping and to call back whenever.  So I've called twice more, and no answer, no return phone calls, and no more texts.  What the eff???  She has to know that I'm going to be anxious all day and want to check in.  Is it completely unreasonable for her to not be calling me back?  Should I go over there?  Keep calling obsessively?  What do I doooooooooo????

  • Ugh, I'd be pissed!  I try not to call too much because I know how busy the lady is with my LO and sometimes up to 4 other kids, but every time I call I at least get an answer, even if it isn't too detailed!

  • Oh thank God.  She finally called back, and said everything is just fine.  She said she tried to call me a few times, and it went straight to my VM.  I don't get great cell reception around my office, so I guess I just wasn't getting the calls.  Gave her my office number so it doesn't happen again.

Whew...seriously, the places your mind goes when you think your baby might not be safe.  I was literally feeling physically ill.  I'm going to hug her extra tight when I get off work in a few hours!
