Any cheese that's pasteurized is safe to eat. Almost all the cheese in the US is pasteurized. If you really feel the need, you can ask... but unless you're at a gourmet cheese shop it's incredibly unlikely the mozz is unpasteurized.

Huh. I read that mozzarella is almost always made of pasteurized milk since that helps it achieve the correct consistency. Are you sure they didn't just mean it's made in-house from pasteurized milk curd?
fresh mozzarella is made by hand and is not pasturized nor does it last as long as machine made polly-o or any other store brand. Fresh mozz is in a ball shape usually only wrapped in saran wrap
Well, I know Georgia is one of those states that outlawed raw milk, so I eat fresh mozzarella all the time. OP, unless you're in one of the 11 states that allows the sale of raw milk, you're fine.
