Dr Seeker/UHC question

So the billing department at Dr. Seeker's office is making me nutty! I may potentially be changing jobs, which will also include switching from BCBS insurance to a UnitedHealthcare HMO.  Whether or not Dr. Seeker is in network with UHC HMO will play a big part in accepting the job offer... When I talked to the billing office, they told me that a UHC HMO didn't exist and if it did that they had never heard of it.  What?!  I know that it exists - my husband has been on the UHC HMO for years. Needless to say I am very, very confused.

Do any of you have a UHC HMO and see Dr. Seeker?

 Thanks!!

Re: Dr Seeker/UHC question

  • I don't have Dr. Seeker, but I do have another Dr in that office and their billing does not make sense. They are moving accounts from one billing (AAOBGYN) to another (CTOBGYN) and I am currently getting bills from both that don't match up. Just keep communicating with them - or ask Dr. Seeker's nurse to help you find the right person to talk to. The person you talked to obviously has zero clue...

  • I don't see Seeker, but the UHC HMO does exist and I have it (as do many of the workers at the COA).
  • Thanks ladies!  After quite a bit of time on the phone with the COA benefits department I learned all kinds of interesting things... LOL

Apparently COA's UHC plan is just called an HMO to keep the confusion down from when they switched over from the BCBS HMO, but is not actually an HMO??  Who knew!

I also learned (which was mentioned previously on the board) that Dr. Seeker was mistakingly terminated from UHC but that UHC is in the process of correcting this.

So all is well in my world now :)  Pregnancy meltdown averted!
