We have a Baby Bjorn from DD, but we didn't use it a ton when she was little. We didn't have any other carriers or anything. I'm thinking this time around I'll need to put the baby down and/or have him in a carrier a LOT because I'll need my hands for DD.
What do you use? What has worked for you now that you have 2?
Re: do you use a carrier/sling with #2? (especially if you didn't with #1)
We had a couple carriers with DS, but never used them. Maybe once.
This time around I found an ergo on babysteals. LOVE it. I use it all the time.
Ditto this. We had a Bjorn and Moby for DD1 but she never liked to be worn. So I sold those carriers on ebay and got an Ergo after hearing so many recommendations. I love it! And DD2 loves it...she could sleep in it for hours, while I cook, clean or play with DD1.
I've had many carriers for all of my babies, but haven't every used one on a daily basis... Mostly for going out to the park or on a long walk, if I don't put them in the stroller (I like my ergo best). When I am home the baby goes in the moses basket, bouncy seat etc. if I'm not nursing or playing with them. I'm just not comfortable wearing the baby all day, and for us they tend to sleep better/longer when they are in their crib than walking around doing chores with me.
I love my Ergo. I got it, when DD1 was about 4 months old. I used it quite a bit with her, but use it even more with DD2. DD2 doesn't like her car seat, so she demands to be worn for any kind of shopping. She goes right to sleep in the Ergo and it doesn't hurt my back to carry her around for hours on end.
I got the bjorn sport from a yard sale for $20 brand new in the box. Best investment ever. I use it all the time. It's really comfy (which is good since I have a bad back) and so easy to get baby in and out of. I'm a big fan.
I use the carrier more when we go for walks/run errands. During the day in the house, I generally sit with DD on my lap and read books/play with DS using the other hand.
