My OB said that I could take cough drops, benadryl or robitussen. She suggested Tyenol and Benadryl more than the other two though, and Benadryl helped mine a lot. I didn't try the cough drops.
Cough drops are full of sugar...but what I found that worked wonders was actually swallowing a spoonful of honey. It worked amazingly well and is better for you and baby than medication.

My OBGYN said cough drops are ok but not to go over board. I personally only take one at night before bed if needed.
If you prefer a more natural remedy you can try gargling with salt water. Warm water with a spoon or honey does wonders too. I hope you feel better soon.

Mine said cough drops were fine, but if you just have a sore throat, you can try throat drops instead. They don't have all the extra anti-cough stuff that cough drops have.
You can try Ludens throat drops. (the variety pack is the best) They don't taste bad and don't have the extra cough med. Or hot tea with honey and lemon..very soothing! Get better!

The ones I am taking are sugar free. You do know that honey is full of sugar (natural sugar of course) dont you?

Yes I am aware of that...but for some reason the cough syrup and cough drops bring my bloodsugar levels up alot higher than the honey. Plus I would take one spoonful of honey in the morning and that was enough to get me through the day. Cough drops I would have to take continuously in order to get the same relief. Even the sugar free cough drops have a sugar alcohol according to my dr which can bring bloodsugars up.
