Awwww...you have a cute baby and baby bump! I prefer Reid. I think because one of my BF's last name is Reid. Also, I know a Reed, and don't have a good association with him...and it makes me think of the plant. Great name, btw, I love it!
Definitely Reid unless Reed is a family name spelled that way.
Reed reminds me of an instrument part. or bamboo.
LOVE Reid.

My DS is Reed. I know this board generally prefers the Reid spelling. Both are acceptable and both originated from surnames. Our Reed is named after my father's mn (grandmother's maiden name). The Reed spelling makes more sense to me personally because of the i before e thing and since I've seen it spelled this way my whole life.
I have been surprised that people generally spell Reed's name correctly the first time or when they ask they say "R-E-E-D"? not the other way around. Until the 70s Reed was the more common spelling so maybe that is why. It is probably generational and in 10 years or so his name will get misspelled a lot. Either way, they are similarly ranked Reid (291) and Reed (380) so they are both considered "normal" spellings. I was also interested that both spelling jumped a bit from last year (about 45 spots each) so I guess the name is on the rise. I once worked with a guy who spelled it Read which I did think was strange.

Re: Reid or Reed?
i prefer reid.
reed looks wrong, IMO.
I strongly prefer Reid
Reed brings back bad memories of being forced to practice my clarinet from a young age.
