Travel system vs. snap n go stroller?

Feeling a little overwhelmed with the whole stroller decision right now. My two current options are either the Graco snap n go and the Chico Capri stroller for later OR the S1 by Safety First travel system. Thoughts on travel systems vs the snap n go option? If it makes a difference (and I'm still trying to figure out if it does), I'm 5'2" and have a 2 door Scion. Thanks for the help!

Re: Travel system vs. snap n go stroller?

  • I purchased a Graco travel system. Hopefully it will work out great, but who knows. Good luck with your 2 door; I got a vw bug, so I'm with ya.

  • I loved my snap n go and was glad it gave me the time to find out what my stroller needs were.

  • I got both! haha Someone gave us the snap and go (lightly used) and then we registered for a travel system that the carseat was compatible with the sn'g :)

    Register for both!

  • We got a travel system on clearance @ BRU for $95 (reg price $240).  I registered for a Snap and Go and a Jeep jogging stroller.  Seems like a bunch of strollers, but I think I will use them all :)
  • I ended up getting the Chicco travel system.  But I had a really hard time deciding between that and the snap n go, and I still am not sure I made the right choice.  It really came down to being still unsure and my MIL saying, "i want to buy you a travel system" and me just thinking - fine, we'll go with a travel system :)  I know, not real helpful.  Sorry.  And good luck.

  • I'm 5'2" with a Scion too but mine is 4 door.  I can actually fit both carseats in the car and I have the Bugaboo Chameleon in the trunk.  It's tight but we will all fit.

I did buy the adaptor for my stroller to use it as a snap n go.  I used it for quick trips and when my DD was a newborn but always felt that my DD was more comfortable in the big stroller for longer trips and/or walks.  It really is up to you though.

  • I have had 5 different strollers since I had my 2 boys that are 17 months apart. The snap n go is great. It is so light and can fit in tight spaces. Once the baby outgrows the baby car seat, a sturdy, small, light umbrella stroller is great. The lighter, the better. I think I had a Chicco something - it was stolen from my car so I have to buy a new one. I had a double umbrella stroller since they were both still small. I also had the jeep jogging stroller which I didn't like because the front wheel didn't pivot - pain in the tush. I have the Bob double jogging stroller - huge and pain in the tush getting in the trunk - very heavy. I also had the sit n stand which was very uncomfortable for my older one sitting in the back when he didn't want to stand on it. I was never a fan of those big travel systems.

  • I registered for 2 strollers. The first is the Graco SnugRider Infant Car Seat Frame Stroller that I can just snap my infant car seat into. Then I also registered for the Maclaren Quest Sport Stroller for after the baby is out of the infant seat. The Maclaren is basically a souped up umbrella stroller....it is very sturdy (as reviewed by several friends who have used it), yet lightweight and easy to maneuver.

Somebody offered to buy us a travel system so we picked the Graco snug ride. We also decided to register for a snap 'n go. I figure the snap 'n go will be good for travel since it is lighter and the Graco stroller will be good for longer walks, trips to zoo, etc.

  • As PP said We registered for both!  My thought was very similar that until the baby was bigger we wanted to be able to move him around as easily as possible.  IE the snap n go.  But obviously once he gets bigger he will be more comfortable in the larger travel system stroller.

We had both, but honestly didn't need the travel system at all. For the most part we only used the snap n go.

  • My Nana bought us our travel system and we're borrowing a friend's snap n go in the beginning to see if we like it--if we do we'll buy our own but I figure this is a good way to see if we like it or not.
