I've been keeping a list on Amazon of things I think that the girls would enjoy/need for their 1st b-day. If someone asks me what to get them, do you think it's rude to forward them the link to the Amazon wishlist with a note saying that most of the items can be purchased in the store for cheaper?

Re: 1st B-Day Gifts
I'd probably only let on about the list to my parents and maybe DH's just because my mom usually says it's just a lot easier for me to tell her exactly what the girls might need/want vs. her spending hours trying to think of things to buy them.Or even suggest an amazon gift card?
I personally wouldn't feel comfortable telling my friends/other family about the amazon list but that's just me....
I did the same thing. I just told people that I created a wishlist as a guide for my parents etc. who had been asking for some guidance on what to get them, and that I by no means needed or wanted everything on there. It is more to give people general ideas of what 1 yr olds are into. I don't necessaraly need the exact brands on there. So I forwarded it on just to help out and told them that.
Do you know if when people buy off of it, the stuff comes off like a real registry? Also, can I see your list? I am just popping random stuff on there at this point because these are my first kids!!
That's a good point, because that is how we've been using it, as ideas of things that they would be into rather than a registry of gifts.
I think that if you purchase it off of the Amazon list it give you an option to take it off, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Here's the link to my list...

Nice! I will have to add some of that stuff. We already have the FB learning home and Farm. THey are wonderful and they absolutely love them! There is a ton of stuff on our list, and a few big ticket items...bc the grandparents asked us to put them on. I by no means expect to get all of this. We also asked for the PB anywhere chairs. Here is my list. Not clicky bc my mac booooooo!

I keep a running list, but just in a spreadsheet. If someone asks me what to get the girls, I just give them something off of the list in their price range as a suggestion.
We've never had duplicates going this route. I just think its tacky to send out a list to party goers even if they ask.
Katie: 1/16/08 2lbs. 15oz.
Abby & Emily: 12/31/10 6lbs. 2oz. & 5lbs. 7oz.
Most people have requested links to what the boys would want for their birthday. Especially older people who have no clue what I am saying when I tell them about certain items lol
I keep a list or links handy and if someone asks for specifics then great, if not then no biggie.
