Are there any new mom's groups in the Portland area that get together regularly?

I'm a (mostly) SAHM and just looking to get out and connect with some other new moms.  I didn't deliver in the Portland area so I don't have too many resources!  My friends have all pretty much dropped off the map since I had DS.. and you know you need to get out and meet some new people when you find a trip to Target for diapers and gas drops exciting. 

Portland First

I always suggest trying the New Mom's group at Providence Hospital.  You can go even if you didn't deliver there.  It's a great way to meet other moms and they will get you started with a playgroup for after you graduate from the hospital group at 6 months.  Plus, you get some really wonderful support and advice from the moderator.  Look on their website under 'Register for Classes' and it will give you the information.

When I was on maternity leave I checked out www.meetup.com and did a search for "moms" and there were a TON of moms groups.  I joined a "Walking Mama" group and they would schedule stroller walks all the time, I went to the zoo and a couple parks with them.  I didn't really "click" with any of the Moms in the group, but it was still nice to get out of the house and have an activity for the day.

Also google MOMS Clubs International, or something like that, my friends that SAH really love their local groups!

www.portlandmetromommies.com is a great local board with regular meeetups and play dates. I saw a flyer for them at a local restaurant and registered for their forums.

There are also new moms groups at Legacy Good Sam and Emanuel.  (you don't need to deliver there)  We STILL meet up with the kids and moms from our group, and all of the kids are turning 4 this year.

There are also strong chapters of la leche league with monthly meetups in Portland and Gresham.
