Dos-Watch update: 39 week appt

So, my money's on ssinca or cia to be next.

Despite feeling like someone took a baseball bat to my vagina all effing week, Dos hasn't dropped. I'm at 1.5 and 40% and "soft." Dr. said his best bet is that he'll see me next week for my 40-week appt.

I was really hoping I'd go early this time and not have to worry about being overdue, wondering IF I'm going to go into labor on my own or if I'm just going to sit here on my ridiculously sore lady parts for another 10 days only to not even have a shot at the VBAC and have a r-c/s. They won't induce a VBAC, especially not when I'm overdue, ESPECIALLY not if my cervix isn't doing jack.

Argh.

In my experience, Dr. S is a horrible predictor of when women go into labor. Remember he kept telling me that I would go early, blah blah. He's a liar. Three words: LIAR LIAR PANTS!. I bet you'll go this weekend.

Keep hope alive! You know how fast things can change. Who knows, you might be the one posting from L&D tomorrow! There's still plenty of time for your baby to come on his own and even earlier than your due date. I'm cheering you on, hoping you get a shot at a VBAC!

PS--There is a book club meeting this week, and I could've sworn they've helped put a couple of people on this very board into labor. So, make plans on coming to the meeting.

Boo to stubborn babies! If it makes you feel any better, my doc also seems to be a horrible guesser - still no contrax over here:/ I have a f/u appt tom so we'll see if there's been any progress.

I was 1cm/50%/-2 station at my 39 wk appointment. Went into labor on my own the day before my due date and had DD the next afternoon.

Maybe try using a breast pump for nipple stim? Dr. S told us we could try that.

Ditto everyone else who said things can change in the blink of an eye. I say try all of the suggestions, eat the spiciest food you can handle and start bouncing on a yoga ball in your spare time. I can bring you mine tonight. Oh and are you doing those squat things they rec in the HBs book? Loads and loads of *~*~*~*labor dust!!*~*~*~*

We are walking, I'm bouncing on the yoga ball, having sex (sooo not fun given aforementioned state of vagina), I did a little full-moon dance last night (and the nurse this morning said that the influence of the full moon is real) . . . we are going out for eggplant parmesan tonight (also at the rec of the nurse), and I'm heading to the store to search for evening primrose oil.

This kid has exactly one week before I get pissed at him.

I know it's just your desire to be done being pregnant that's making you forget Smile

Your progress doesn't mean anything. You have more progress now than I did 12 hours into my labor.

Also, remember that the second baby doesn't drop like the first baby. With Olivia, I dropped at 34 weeks and freaked out ... when I was looking up to find out that was normal, I also read that with subsequent babies, they don't drop until the mother actually goes into labor.

ALSO ... my doctor swears that full moons and weather changes really do put people into labor. It started raining the day I did. With the full moon tomorrow ... I think Dos is coming soon!

When did you go into labor with A?

I know everyone says this, but seriously, the Dr.'s predictions can mean SQUAT.

At my 38 week appointment, Dr. Cutler said I was 0cm, 0%, no progress, yada yada.

DS was in my arms 2 days later. It can happen!

I haven't had time to read other responses, so forgive redundancy, but my understanding was that baby doesn't necessarily drop until labor begins with subsequent pregnancies.

In any case, I'm rooting for you! Lots of early/on time dust your way. I read your blog and your letter to your daughter made me mist up.

do not despair...i have a friend that was in a very similar situation, 39 wk appt, no progress, induction set for this wednesday (she's wanting a v-bac as well) and just got a text this morning that she's at the hospital and in labor!!!
