When to stop night time pull-up?

DD has only been potty trained for about 6 weeks now.  She wears a pull-up to bed at night (doesn't nap anymore).  The last 4 weeks she has woken up dry.  When did you take the night time pull-up away?  TIA!

  • Take them off! :) Seems like your daughter has got her bladder under control. DS told me no more so that's when we stopped (about a month of being dry at night with no accidents). Good job mama!

I would definitely stop them, she's got it under control.  Great job! I think nighttime training is still far off for us eventhough my oldest was PT'd before he was 2.
  • Thanks, Girls!  No more pull ups for us! :)

  • Take em off!

IF she has an accident - no big deal - my DD wakes up to go potty.

    Congratulations on being PT!

  • I would say you're good to go with not using the pull-up!  As long as my dd goes to the bathroom before bed, we don't have any issues with her getting up or wetting the bed. Now my son on the other hand, is still wearing a diaper at night. Embarrassed

about that point you are at.  I did leave her in the training underwear for a bit longer (the thicker kind of real underwear just in case) but so far, in almost a year, we've only had maybe 2 accidents and one was because we forgot to make her go to the bathroom before bed and the other because I foolish gave her a cup of water full to the brim and she drank it all in bed.  So I'd just pop your mattress in a waterproof cover and let it go.

The boys were daytime potty trained pretty fast, within a couple of weeks at the beginning of February. We have had them in underpants at night for a couple of weeks now. They have been waking up dry pretty much since we started potty-training. I just wanted to use up the supply of diapers/pullups we had.

  • ugg, my son still wears a pull up at night.  he is such a sound sleeper he does not wake to go to the bathroom.  I have tried a night here and there and he is dry.  but 2-3 nights a week he pees.

We have spoken to him about waking up to go, but he never wakes up at night.  too deep a sleeper.

  • When I was potty training my SS, he was pretty good during the day but he was a big-time bed wetter. I actually ended up setting my alarm twice every night to get him up and take him to try going potty, and he would just kind of sleep walk his way in there, go to the bathroom and sleep walk his way back to his bed lol. This helped with getting him used to getting up in the night if he has to go.
