How do I know if my baby has dropped?

I've been feeling a ton of pressure in my pelvis for the past 10 days, and it feels like she's ready to come down the birth canal. I'm only 31 weeks and this is my first and I'm just not sure. I have some pressure and pain when I get up from a chair and turn over in bed, but not when I just sit in one place. My doc says there isn't anything to worry about but I'm a little skeptical!

  • I remember being able to breathe better and my heartburn wasn't as bad and yes I felt like a baby was gonna fall out at any minute. But if Dr. says your ok, you are probably ok.

  • You probably have dropped. Some women do or like me I never did!  I would take it as a good sign that you probably won't have to have a c/s if your body is already getting ready.  I have friends that dropped really early and had late babiesBig Smile

  • I dropped around week 36 or so and had DD on her due date. I just noticed one day that I could breath when I walked up our stairs. Also, my mom noticed.

  • I carried really high most of the pregnancy, but one morning (around week 37) I woke up and I could breathe without horrible pain in my ribs. Walking was easier too. He was still high, but it was just less uncomfortable.

  • I dropped over the weekend. But this is my third which I thought explained it. I am going to ask my doctor about it thursday too because it does seem really early (but at least you and I aren't alone, right?) ha

I knew because last week he was nailing me in the ribs and I was preparing myself for the pain longterm (with my first I thought he was going to break a rib from kicking me in the same rib for 2 months everyday.)  Then, over the weekend his little feet dropped out of my ribs, I can breathe again and feel pressure and movement right on top of my pelvic bone.  But the worst part is that I really liked all the maternity pants with a thin band instead of huge over the belly panel, but now my belly is so low the band just folds over and I can keep them up!!!  UGH!!  ;0)  I refuse to buy more maternity clothes for the last 2 months! ha.....everyone is going to have to put up with my hiking my pants all the time.
