Friday night we went out for Mexican and then had a regular night at home.

Saturday - Did errands for the kids' party, assembled the favors, etc and managed to get the kids to take a nap before the party (go me!) ;) We had 14 kids which was a great number. The people at the jump place handled everything and ran it like clockwork. We had a friend's son with us, so we took the three boys home and let them run around and chased each other outside for another 45 minutes (where do they get this energy???) Our friend came to pick him up around 9 and we all crashed.

Sunday - We took the kids to see Hoodwinked Too (cute, but not as good as the Pixar movies) because I thought it was supposed to rain. Ran a couple of errands at the mall and then home so L and the kids could nap. I took the kids to the playground while L worked in the yard and then I cooked meals for the next couple of nights and made cupcakes for the kdis' school party while L continued to work in the yard until it started to pour.

  • i'm glad to hear that the party went well!

our weekend was just okay. Friday I was home with the girls while DW took Sprout to a bday party and a party at her work.  Saturday RB was sick and Sprout was "on consequence" for his horrific week at school. Sunday morning we went to Day out with Thomas - it was set up nicely but unfortunately it was raining and everyone was in a cranky mood.  In the afternoon I got the heck out of dodge and met up with some friends from my local board at a winery where I enjoyed some much-needed adult beverage and conversation ;)

  • Crappy :(  I am sick.  Friday night we stayed home.

Saturday I met K for lunch between tests at Panera but didn't eat, I felt so horrible.  Then I met my brother-in-law and we went to my little brothers 26th birthday party (which had a ton of little boys in baggy, butt exposing jeans and girls in 'dresses' that more closely resembled lingerie, 2 kegs and an ice luge.  I felt old, cranky, sick and out of place) but only wore a thin sweater and it was outside and really cold.  I ended up staying much longer than I originally planned because I really wanted to see my little sister, who was late getting out of work.  I rushed home to give Henry his pills and feed Grace and back out the door to meet K at a pub (again, didn't eat) to celebrate her finishing her exams. We left early and pretty much went right to bed, but neither of us slept because I was up coughing but my throat was so sore tears streamed down my face every time I had a coughing fit.

Yesterday I never moved from the couch, trying to rest it out of me.  I thought I was feeling better but the second we went to bed, the coughing was back (even when I was propped up).  Out of respect to my wonderful wife who took such good care of me and had to get up at 5:30 for work.. I "slept" on the couch.  :(

It is just a cold.  It is in my ears, throat, lungs, head (no fever).  I called my ob on Friday and she told me to take Benadryl?!!  Which I would never do, because it makes me feel like a crack head and I can't imagine what it would do to an 8oz baby (who kicks up a storm every time I drink oj).   I don't want to go to my pcp because I doubt there is anything they can give me and I wouldn't take it anyhow (unless it was serious, which it isn't.) so I have to stop whining and be grateful I don't have to go to work and can lay around, drinking tea, feeling like poop until it passes.  I know this.. but I am rarely sick and I have a really hard time 'laying around'.

Pity party over.  Thanks for asking.

  • Friday: We had our weekly SW visit, then the girls played outside, I took J to work and then dropped A off at her Dad's house.  I also baked 100 cupcakes and prepped to make frosting on Saturday. Iz went to bed after we dropped A off and then had to get up again at 11:45 so we could pick J up.

Saturday:  We went out for breakfast, after breakfast I got dropped off at home to make frosting while J and Iz went to help setup for SIL's surprise baby shower.  We were at the shower from 1:30 until about 10.  Home.  Bed.

Sunday:  J worked in the morning.  I did Iz's hair for FOUR HOURS.  I washed dishes and when J got home we decided to go to Red Robin for dinner.  We walked around Target after dinner and picked up some essentials.  A came home and we got the girls in bed.  I folded laundry and we watched last weeks Grey's.

  • Great weekend

Friday was date night we had drinks then a movie.  I forgot we were going to a movie theatre all my students go to.  I would not have had 2 large gin and tonics if I had thought ahead.  I only saw a few students (that are in hs now) but I hate mixing school and my social life.

Sat I tutored in the am and for the life of me I can't remember anything else.  I know I took a nap while E napped but nothing else.  S grilled for the first time which was nice.

Sunday was Mother's day redo since S was busy preparing for an exam on actual mother's day.  We took E to the aquarium for the first time.  She had a great time but it got so busy after about an hour E was done.  We walked over to fanueil hall for lunch and then home. E took a 3.5 hr nap when we got back (I guess we tired her out!)  Then we hung out for the afternoon.

It was a nice weekend but I am sad to be back at school.  S is done with her internship so she is home and I am jealous.  I just remembered that I have to tutor today.  Ugh.

  • My weekend was lovely!

Friday -went to a friend's graduation then just hung out at home with LO.

Saturday - my friend took LO for the day so I could have 'me' time.  I got Starbucks (twice), my favorite hummus, a massage, and a pedicure.  Oh and some wine...and my dog went to the groomer to get his summer cut.  It was a great day!

Sunday - LO and I ran a few quick errands and then went to a local Greek Festival.  This entire weekend was all about the food!  She loved her gyro as did I. :-)

  • Friday night was a chill night at home with DD and we got her new bed set up!

Saturday morning DD was up at 6:20...yawn. We went to run errands and pick up party favors etc. Then my folks came to visit and celebrate DD's birthday. We met my GF and a friend's 2.5 year old boy at a kid's museum for some fun. Then we hit red robin for an early dinner. Then the folks and DD and I went home for cake and presents. DD wanted to sleep with my mom and they were in bed reading stories before 8pm. I went to bed before 9, seriously unheard of, woohoo!!!

Sunday, grandma talked DD into not waking me at 6:15...I got to sleep until 7:30 which was much needed. We went to brunch with my folks before they left for home. Then I pulled a 2brides and managed to get DD to take a desperately needed (but short) nap before her party! The party was at a kid's gym place which was a good thing because it was POURING outside. The girls working there ran the party and it was smooth and easy. We had 14 kids too, including one who RSVP'd Sunday morning...yep, Sunday morning via email...WTH??? Good thing I have a smartphone and bothered to check my email that morning and thought to have extra party favor bags! DD had a great time. Afterwards we had cheese pizza and watched her new copy of tangled at home.

Ditto. I got one at 9am on Saturday morning while we were out doing errands. Sigh.

  • Happy birthday to little E and Grayson and Carter!  14 pre-schoolers sounds fun but overwhelming!

We had an awesome weekend that we had been looking forward to for a long time.  The B&B was just like we remembered it, and there was a fun feeling in the air of everyone getting ready for summer.  We stopped at a few real estate offices to look at pictures and fantasize, but sadly that won't be a reality any time soon.  But I love the ocean and I love that we created this tradition ourselves of something/somewhere that makes us both happy.  We both have a bad habit of talking too much about work when we're home, and this weekend we did a good job of not doing that.  It felt refreshing.  And I'm on book 3 in our quest to re-read and re-watch all of the Harry Potter books and movies before the last movie this summer!

  • It was very nice. Friday night Jen brought home Indian take-out and I went grocery shopping to avoid the weekend crowds.

Saturday we went to a friend's house and played with her 6-month-old until he got tired and went off to have a nap, and we drove out to the 'burbs, had BBQ and saw Bridesmaids, which was very funny, and aside from some of the more extreme antics, very much in tune with what it feels like to have complicated, loving, jealous, joyful adult female friendships. Saturday night we went to a friend's birthday party. It was small, only 8 of us, but we all got on really well and had a great time.

Sunday I tried to go running, but realized about a mile in that my shoes are totally shot and that finishing the run in them would aggravate my shin splints. In the afternoon we went to see Amadeus at a local theater. The differences between the movie and the play were really interesting, and it was a good production. We spent the rest of the day being lazy. I started re-reading the fourth Harry Potter book since I'm trying to re-read them all before the last movie comes out. I have so many non-fiction books sitting on my shelf waiting for me. They're just going to have to wait :-D
