Fittings for first shoes?

I"m planning on getting the girls their first 'real' shoes for their birthdays, but I want to get them fitted because I feel like they have crazy different feet.  I know that Stride Rite does fittings for babies, is there anywhere else in the Twin Cities?

Re: Fittings for first shoes?

  • I believe Nordstroms does too.  If you sign up to be a VIP member at Albertville, Stride Rite usually has a coupon code for 15% off an order of $75 or more.  Stride rite shoes are about 30% - 50% cheaper up there!  Plus they have a 365 day return policy (you just have to return them at the outlet). They did a great job with my little guy.  I bought his first pair of shoes there and summer sandals.  I believe the shoes were about $25 compared to $45 (not including the 15% off coupon)

I know Macy's at the MOA does not!  I was shocked they don't have any kid shoes there.

Yes, we need to try to make it to a GTG soon.  We're not taking any ECFE classes this summer, so our schedule will be a lot more open!

  • 1. eeekkk they are going to be 1 I am shocked

    2. Lets do a GTG in Albertville, they are for the moms anyways :)

    3. I was shocked that Macy's dose not sell kids shoes also.

  • I'd go to stride rite, but for a first fitting, I'd go to a store.

The lady that last measured Kennedy's feet in albertville was a size and a half off. it looked like she had clown shoes on.

  • My MIL got DS fitted at Von Maur in EP, she got him some Pedipeds. She paid way more then I would have, but that's what Grandma's are for!

I just came back today from Nordstrom and loved it!!! They messured my son's feet and tried to keep him entertained at the same time as he wasn't buying the new shoe thing. They had different brands but I did decide for a pair of stride ride. They have a big fish aquarium there and at the end they took a picture of my son with his new shoes, gave him a stuffed animal and a ballon.

Two weeks before that, I had gone to the stride ride store in Woodbury. The woman there touched his feet and said he was a size 5. Then she said all the shoes would be fine for him. She didn't explain what the different styles were and which are for first walkers. She was very pushy and I didn't like it at all. The prices were the same. I think they were much more qualified and gave me and my son more time then the stride ride store.

  • Shoe zoo in Minneapolis... but I'll warn you they are ABSURDLY expensive.
