I still have about 30lbs weight I want to lose, but, I am officially 1lb. *lower* than my prepregnancy weight.
I'm a size 10 still, but I want to be 30lbs less...which according to my doc/cardiologist is where I should be. I have increased my intake a lot, it took two months for my body to get used to the calorie intake...but that combined with exercise, and I may get to my "goal" sooner rather than later.
Its been (and continues to be) a long journey (56lbs. lost so far), but I have done it all on my own. W/o expensive programs or fat diets, just healthy eating/exercise habits. I don't want to talk about it with a lot of people, because I feel I would be more talk and less action (I've been that way in the past).

In all honesty it was trial and error. It has been a full 16 months (so far). You have to have patience with this, otherwise it doens't work.
MyFitnessPal helped me to find the correct calorie & nutritional intake for my height and weight and my goal. I don't use their journal, I basically write down on a pad every single day what I eat, the serving, and break it down into the Calorie, Carb, Fat and Protein intake.
My daily allowance is:
Calories: 1200
Carb: 165
Fat: 40
Protein: 40
Its hard, because I dont eat out to help control the calorie intake. This is hard since my entire extended family loves to eat out. If I do eat out, I try to research the restaurant, and find the best food I could eat.
Do I do this all the time? No. I'd be lying if I said I did. I cheat 10% of the time, but I don't give myself a hard time about it. Sometimes I'll be honest, I crave high fat foods (usually around when my period starts)...I haven't found anything healthy yet that will satisfy that craving. Cheating you can do. Eating one slice of NY Style Pizza isn't going to make you gain 10lbs, but eating it everyday will.
I also will find that if I weigh myself on a good day (the day before I eat healthy) I won't be discouraged. If you eat a high fat/high sodium content food the night before you weigh yourself, you will be quite sad. Your body stores water based on how much sodium intake you have.
Remember, patience is key. Learning your body and what it needs to live, and live healthy, is the best thing for a weight loss program. Believe me. I've been on them all...programs and fad diets. I would lose everything very fast, and then gain it all back within a month or so. Yo-yo diets. My goal here is just to be at a healthy body weight (based on my docs opinion), and I want to know what to eat and how to get there, and stay there.
