I haven't had my baby yet, but thought you experienced moms might be able to help me ![]()
I received the Close & Secure Sleeper as a baby shower gift even though I wasn't registered for it. I like the idea of it, but it says it is supposed to only be used on an adult sized mattress in between DH and I. I don't want to co-sleep and certainly don't think there is enough room for this in our queen sized bed. Does anyone know if this HAS to be used in our bed, or if we can use it more like a bassinet or moses basket?? Anyone have experience with this?

Re: XP: anyone use the close & secure sleeper??
I used mine for about 2 1/2 weeks before he started hating it. I had to start propping him up for reflux around then so he started hating it. I put it in my to sell items for the time being.. luckly my mom got it on sale for like $15 so it wasnt a big loss.
we have this and used it in our queen sized bed for my first son. Not much room but it helped get through a few weeks of a fussy baby that just wanted to be near mom. I could lay down and still touch him and help hold the paci, without worring about blankets etc.
With my new little one, we haven't used it in our bed. we know how to bedshare safetly now:) I used it downstairs as a changing/napping area on the couch next to me. I had a c-section so it was easier to just sit next to him on the couch and i had a safe place to lay him down while i rested or got up to use the bathroom etc.
Definately will out grow it quickly.
I have this and use it in our king sized bed. Most nights, I nurse my little guy to sleep with the two of us lying down facing each other and once he is out I gently lift him into the sleeper. If he is not is a deep sleep as soon as he isn't touching me he will wake back up.
As a previous poster said the bottom sides are soft, they also aren't very high (which is great in bed because you can see and touch LO easily) but my little guy has a tendency to squirm and can already get his legs over the low soft sides. I would not use this if it wasn't on a bed because I would worry about LO squirming out and falling.
I think it is pretty good for what it is made for, but probably not much else.
