Ruth's Chris is now considered fine dining? LOL!!! Unlesss your kid is going to scream and stab the waiters, I think you will be able to enjoy your meal.
Ruth's Chris is fine dining? LOL!!! For reals?
Also, you people realize that place is an overpriced Longhorn /Outback Steakhouse, right? The fvcking linen napkins are just there to fool you.
Babies are fine there. You guys are silly.
Right? Lord in heaven, y'all act like just because they're scamming you out of your money by having gimmicky crumb sweepers and a glorified, unoriginal menu, that's some sort of excuse to treat mothers and their children like second-class citizens.
I'm not trying to offend, and this is just my personal view on things, but: Quit acting so fancy. I'm serious. Anyone with true class knows that nowhere is too posh for a child, if the parent has the grace to know when to take the child out for a break if necessary. How else are you supposed to raise them to know what's acceptable in every social situation? I began etiquette training as a southern lady when I turned 3, and I'm thankful for it every day.
Also, for the record: With a few exceptions, kids menus are scams. Not deals. And usually not so healthy, either. Just, you know, statistically speaking.
However- I will say that if I had time to go out with my husband to a restaurant we both enjoyed on a day special to us, I would definitely spring for that sitter. Maybe even an overnight with the grandparents
Also this.
Look, DH's parents like wasting money. I like making them happy. I don't care about your preferences (general you in the restaurant). I'm not harming you, actively. Fluck off.
So I think it depends on the time and the location of the Ruth's Chris.
For example, we have gone out to eat at Mortons (which is 100000000 times better than Ruth's Chris, IMO) and taken the babies, and they just chilled in their car seats.
HOWEVER, we went to the Mortons in the suburbs, and at 5:30 on a Tuesday. We were the only people in the restaurant, and everything was fine.
We wouldn't go to the Morton's in downtown Chicago and take the kids, and we certainly wouldn't go there (or any other nice restaurant) at 7pm or later (especially on the weekend), but come on, if the restaurant is in the burbs, they've got to expect families and they need to get over themselves, IMO.
If you are going early enough, why not? But I do agree that it's your anniversary and you deserve a night out alone.

I would take my son if it was early. Before 6:30 and I was ready to get the check and leave if he had a melt down.
They do have a kid's menu or at least some of them do.

ditto this, and my almost 3yr still doesn't understand the "inside voice" thing, LOL!
