I need help starting...

I am ashamed to say that I have not started working out yet and I have an 8 month old and am preganant again. I really don't know where to start - anyone have an suggestions to start a run/walk program. I refuse to go though this pregnancy without working out. I need to be healthy for my DD and my new baby to come. Any advise is appreciated.

  • First off, you should talk to your dr about this because what he/she says is ultimately what matters.

I wouldn't start a running program if you haven't worked out since the birth of your DD. Go for walks, swim (and/or walk through the water), do some prenatal yoga. Buy a prenatal workout DVD but always listen to your body. If your body is saying slow down, then slow down. Now is not the time to start a new program.

  • Exactly what PP said. Walking is the easiest way to exercise - work your way up to 30 minutes a day at first, increase that if you have the time, if your 8 mo old cooperates, and if you feel good. Plus its totally free! Make sure you have a good pair of supportive shoes though.
