I've seen it as a nn for Tamarac as well.

Ditto pp on Thomas. And FWIW, Tamsin is the feminine form of Thomas. I've never seen it used her, but know a couple of women in the UK with this name.

Around here Tam is a nn for Tammy.    It would never cross my radar as being a male.
