The info they sent home from the hospital says you can do it after you stop bleeding, but I know a lot of women wait until their 6 week checkup. I cant get in for my checkup until 7 1/2 weeks I dont want to wait that long but I will if I have to.
How long will you wait to have sex? And what will you use for birth control this early on?
Re: C-Section Mamas- Post Partum Sex?
I am waiting till my 6 week appointment, I just don't want to risk it. I feel great though. I get an IUD at that appointment.
If I were to go on and do it earlier, we'd use condoms.

We had sex last week, and we've been using condoms. My PCP offered some BCP until I get my IUD at my PP check, but DS is a BCP baby, so I declined. Condoms are good.
Wow, that's a lot of abbreviations.
After this LO we did it at 3 wks and with my dd we did it also at 3 weeks. I felt fine afterwards. I just took it slow and we used condoms.

I'm not c-section but I say go for it if you feel comfortable enough to do it.
Condoms, lube, time and patience is a MUST. And let DH know that you must be the one calling the shots with this... Mine knows that when I am ready I'm in charge and no rough-housing.
Personally... I'd do it if I where you... It's your one year. I didn't get to have fun on my wedding night, one year or my 2 year because DH was a Marine in school. Treasure eachother and the time you have.
Good luck!
My doctor told me at my 2 week appt that I was still on pelvic rest until at least my 6 week appt. I'm healing great, don't have any pain whatsoever, and my incision is almost 100% healed. I was poking around down there the other day in the shower and felt that my cervix is still really, really low - maybe that's the reason for waiting?
Whenever we do start having sex again, we'll use condoms. Certain birth control makes my cysts act up, and I'd just rather not think about it.
And just from experience (if you're not allergic to silicone), Swiss Navy makes the BEST lubricant. It's kind of pricey, but a little bit goes a looooong way and it lasts forever! I haven't used the water based but the silicone is the sh*t.
I was told not to insert anything in the vagina until my six week appointment. Even though we had c-sections, we are still at risk for uterine and cervical infections.
I will be waiting until I get the all clear from my OB, for sure. BC depends on whether or not my period comes before then; condoms if it hasn't shown, charting to avoid if it has.
All of this, exactly.
