DD is 13 weeks old, and has been getting a bottle since about four weeks of age. She breastfeeds whenever I'm around and gets expressed BM when I'm away. She has always taken the bottle well, until the past few days. Now, we believe she may be rejecting it, and from what I read, that isn't unusual at 13 weeks.
She will fuss, and take a little
bit out of a bottle, then refuse to drink more. She does this over and
over until I get home and then she calms down and nurses like a champ.
My problem is that DH and I will be out of town next weekend and DD will not be going with us. Taking her may be an option, but I'd like it to be a last resort, as we plan to haul some items home with us and need the entirety of our vehicle to do so (so a car seat would hamper this).
What can I do?
Re: XP: 13 week old rejecting the bottle, going out of town! Help!
When I was BFing, this was DS's favorite bottle:

It makes me worry too! But she still nurses well, and wets/dirties way more than the recommended number of diapers.
I plan to BF until at least 6 months, if not a year+, so I don't have that option!
I have noticed that she eats fine during the day when i nurse her but she is taking less and less on the bottle. She has been having more gas then usual and I need to step the amount of mylecon drops that i am giving her to help her out. She has been using a bottle at least once a day since the first week, but since I am going to be weening and switching to using my freezer stash then she needs to use the bottle.
I'm not sure about temperature... I'm never home when it happens as she does not get a bottle if I can nurse her.
She fussed all night until about midnight last night and finally took the bottle from my MIL (a Playtex). She took another this morning from her (Dr. Browns), and took one tonight easily for my parents (Playtex) as I'm at work again.
She's been in a bad mood and very, very clingy the past few days so I'm wondering if she's been a little under-the-weather on top of it. She never ran a fever (I've checked) but has been fussy and sleepy, and DH has had a cold.
