but wait... there's more!

Just when I thought my day couldn't get worse, DH is watching a movie with DS on the laptop (the one I use for work no less) and DS pushes the monitor closed with such force that now the left side of the monitor is white. So luckily my files are viewable on the right side and I was able to copy them to a jump drive and I can at least work on the desktop computer. Did I mention that it's deadline week next week and I need my computer!

Yes sir, this is just peachy. And I'm on 4 hrs sleep. I guess it's time to put DS to bed and call it a day Crying

  • Argh!  Awful day.  I hope that the weekend is better for you.  Good luck!

  • Yucko...I hope the weekend improves for you. I hate dealing with insurance, and smashed computers. And boo to the jerk that hit your car.
  • Okay, I call that a day - no more drama for you.  Here's hoping you have a much better weekend.
  • Oh, man. I hope you just went to bed to put a stop to the craziness. Some days that is the best thing you can do!

  • I'm sorry you had such a terrible day!  I know I'm a little late at responding but I wanted to tell you, if you haven't already done this, that calling the insurance company of the person who hit you should be really easy.  I was involved in an accident a few years ago with a man who ran a red light and I plowed into him.  I was shaken up and pretty stupid and didn't even think to call the police till I got home, but I did exchange insurance info with him.  When I called my insurance company they told me I should first try calling his company and filing a claim with them, since it was his fault and we want them to pay for the damage, as opposed to me filing a claim and paying a deductible.  I did and it was soo easy;  his company contacted him and got his side of the story, then called me back and got mine, and within a few days I was able to go to an adjustor for an estimate then go take my car in for repairs - they even paid for a rental while it was being fixed.  And this was without a police report or anything;  I would think that given you have a police report and clear evidence of the accident, not to mention a witness, you should have no trouble at all.

Hope it all works out for you!

I hope so, the guy's insurance company hasn't been able to reach him (figures), but they called me to get my side of the story and they requested a police report from the police dept. Now I just have to ask them what happens if the guy never calls his ins. co. back, does his ins. still go ahead and process the claim? I hope so because if the guy wants to bury his head in the sand, I still want my car fixed!
