Cervix checks?

Hey ladies! I have a horrible fear of pre-term labor with these two. I have no idea why but I just always have. Does the doctor start doing checks of your cervix or something to make sure that things look okay? May be a stupid questions but I just had to ask!

I got mine checked for the first time at 21 weeks. The second time was just a few days ago, 25 weeks. Both times it was over 4 cm. My next u/s is in 3 weeks.

My cervix was checked at every appointment.

My cervical checks started at 14 wks then 17, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30.  I never had a measurement under 4.5

My first check was at 20 weeks - it was 2.5 then so they want to keep a close eye on it. Last week, it was at 2.8. I'll be measured every two weeks from here on out.
