I just don't think anyone will do the role justice. I am not a Charlie Sheen fan but after seeing him as "Charlie" on "2 1/2 Men" for so long, I can't see anyone else as the main star of the show.
I don't get this....so Ashton is just going to come in and be the character that Charlie Sheen played? Its just weird. Its like when they replaced Darrin on Bewitched with a different actor....just weird.
I don't think they'd be that stupid. They'd probably make him a relative or something new like that.
It's like when Cousin Oliver came to live with the Bradys. The sure sign of a dying show.
Next thing you know, they'll add Ted McGinley. DH and I refer to him as "Show Killer." He always jumps into a show when it's on it's last legs (Happy Days, Love Boat, Married with Children)
As for Ashton, I generally like him, mostly because he's an Iowan like me. (even if he is a Hawkeye fan.. ) But I'd hate it if he played it as a 30-year old Michael Kelso.

Hard to see anyone else play the role of Charlie. Love him or hate him, that role is owned by Charlie Sheen. I can't see the lead character of "Dude where's my car" playing that role.
It will be interesting to see how they work AK in. I could see Woody Harrelson making it work, but I am sure he is too smart to take that kind of career killing risk.
I will be watching both out of morbid curiosity and to do my part to boost the ratings for at least one season, lest Charlie Sheen think that he really is the shizz.

I don't think Kutcher can be as maturely smooth as Sheen was. Not really a fan of either guy, but Sheen seemed to glide in some of those scenes, if that makes any sense.
Agree. The show is loosely based on CS's real life so how can you "give" that life to someone else?
Honestly, I think the show is very funny and did enjoy watching. Such a departure from the normal "chick shows" I like (e.g SITC, Glee, etc) so it's nice to enjoy something w/ DH.

I just laughed out loud. I love the Ted McGinley reference. SO true!
We assumed AK would just be playing a new character...maybe a love child of Evelyn's. Take the role of Charlie? That's just downright stupid! How do they explain that Charlie, the older brother, is now the much younger brother among other things.

Never watched the show and don't like AK, so am even less inclined to watch now.

But, of course I'll be watching it
