Nicknames

Would you use a name where you loved the nicknames, but not the full name?  My husband really likes Eleanor and I love Ella, Ellie and Nora, but not Eleanor.

Why not just go with Ella or Nora? or Ellie?  I love Ellie as a nickname...but can't think of a name I love to be the real name!

Ella, Nora and Ellie are names by themselves. DD is just Ellie because I didn't want Elenore or Elizabeth.

I would just go for the nickname if I didn't like the full name version.

No, I would have to love the full name.  What if she doesn't like the nicknames when she grows up?

Exactly this. My son is Tyler because I love the NN Ty and DH loved the whole name.
