43 too old to get pregnant?

Was just wondering if anyone on this board had children later in life. It's my second marriage and just say he kinda changed his mind on kids and well THAT did not sit well with me. So many of our friends are trying or just had babies(few years younger then me)and I've been an emotional wreck crying all the time and being really nasty at times. I've always thought I would have like 3. Anyway M finally said ok BUT now it's dealing with fertility crap. I don't know if this is too personal on here but the cost of what needs to be done is like $20,000. HOW do you justify that if it does not work? (invitro) Anyone go through with this? I apologize if you ladies don't discuss this. Thanks

  • I realize this was posted almost a month ago but I am hoping you see this. This was the first time I have checked this board.  I usually post on the Trouble Trying to Conceive board.  You should look at that board because there are a lot of women on that board that are in the same boat as you.  I know I may be younger, but the financial burden is huge! DH and I just started our first IUI cycle and dished out about 2,100 bucks for it and we are just getting started! We will probably do a few IUI cycles and then move onto IVF.  If we get that far (and I hope we dont), we will have to borrow the money for IVF.  I guess, you just have to weight your options and everybody is different.  For me, if I didnt do all of this, I would regret it for the rest of my life.  Even if it doesn't work, at least I know I tried and did everything in my power.
