Hey ladies. Tristan's 1st birthday is in July and I'm trying to think of a fairly inexpensive place to hold his party in Huntsville (or surrounding areas). I can't have it at my house because it's too small. Any ideas are really appreciated

#2-BFP: 3.17.14~EDD: 11.28.14~ It's A Girl!~Shooting for a VBAC
Not knowing your price range, I'll just say there is The Little Gym (but do you have to be a member there? Not sure about that one), Earlyworks (which is pretty neat, although if the kids are all 12 months and younger it might not be the best...the Biscuit preschool area is really cool but DD is almost 19 months and she has just started enjoying things like that), or do you know someone who lives in a neighborhood with a club house, or is there a church fellowship hall you could use?
If it wasn't July I'd say any park would be great, but as you know that time of the year is HOT.
Thank you ladies for your input! I'm not really sure how inexpensive, but it has to be pretty cheap considering we don't have much money to spend.
Most of the kids are between 1 & 3 I think, with just a handful of older kids between 4 & 8. I'm thinking a park would be good...maybe one with a playground? The only parks with playgrounds I know of is Monte Sano & Kids Space. I know Sharon Johnston is close to me, and they are building a playground soon, but I don't know if they will have it built by the time of the party.
But atleast now I have some more ideas

Dublin Park has a playground and the picnic tables under trees for shade. But I don't know if you can reserve the area.
This was going to be my suggestion. I know it will be hot but maybe you will get lucky and it will be breezy. There is a good amount of shade too.
We had Lyla's 3rd birthday at Kid's Kingdom at Dublin Park in Madison. There is a covered pavilion with 4 picnic tables. It is first come, first serve. We did her party in the late morning, around 10am I think and no one was there. I bought stuff to decorate the tables and made toddler food, drinks and a cake. The kids played on the playground. Like I said, it was hot but we managed and the place was FREE. Oh and her party was the end of August, which is even hotter!

Good luck! Party planning can be very stressful!
This is my first time on TB today, but this is so funny. Rice and soon2be, my mom had just suggested Dublin Park. My ex boyfriend's sister had her sons 1st b-day party there. It's a great idea.
I love the idea of free, that is wonderful! It will probably be on a Sunday, so maybe the park will be dead? Hot I think we can deal with considering it's shaded. I would only be worried about my grandparents and such. The playground is where my ex's nephew's party was at as well. Is Kid's Kingdom separate from the rest of the park?

Nevermind. I googled and I see the playground is just on the backside of the park. I went before it was rebuilt :P. I'm so excited. I'm hoping the day we have his party there wont be anyone using the pavillion if we choose to go there.

Dublin Park is a great idea! We have been several times on Sunday afternoons around 2ish and it's usually pretty full on the playground, but I haven't ever really noticed anyone using the pavillion.
I wish they'd put a few more pavillions there...that would be awesome.
In the Huntsville - Madison County area there are over 40 parks throughout the city alone!
My kids just love going to Brahan Springs Park on an outing.
So here's a suggestion - Brahan Springs located at 500 Drake Avenue between Drake and Bob Wallace. You can also check out other parks in the area at www.ci.huntsville.al.us/recreation/ or calling (256)564-8026 for information.
Also the state park system at www.alapark.com. I do believe these are all free or at nominal fee. Might be worth checking into ...

Define inexpensive?
