Grabbing things

DS is not very good with his hand/eye coordination.  Although he is learning how to hit the toys on his car seat bar, and put a shirt (or whatever fabric in his reach) in his mouth, he is not very good at using his hands.  Does it sound like he is "behind" for his age?  I know I shouldn't compare children, especially when DD was so early with everything, but I can't help but to remember that at this age, DD was grabbing any and everything,....and she was holding her own bottle.  DS is not doing any of this so I want to make sure he is on track with his hand/eye coordination.

I really wouldn't worry. Whitney is over 4 months, and she is only grabbing clothes now, or if i put something in her hand.  So, the old phrase "Every baby is different" definitley applies.

Jayson is not around 4m2w and is grabbing everything and putting everything in his mouth. He started grabbing toys from his toy bar at around 3 months (I think) It would only be once or twice a day and now is grabbing everything. I wouldnt worry all babies are different.

It sounds to me like he's on track. What you are describing sounds a lot like what G is doing and the pedi told me he's doing great.

A will hold things if you put them in her hand or if she accidentally grabs them off the ground/wherever, but she's not purposely reaching for anything yet. From what I've read on here, other babies have been batting at things since like 3 months and it's hard not to compare. I just try to remind myself that she's probably done plenty of different things before them. Everyone evens out in the end.
