I've never used a foundation and just use a cheap bronzer powder daily instead. I'm ready to make a switch to something that will even out my skintone more and maybe even be good for my skin long term (if there is such a thing). I've seen Bare Minerals advertised a lot but don't really know if it's worth it or what other options there are. Tx!
Re: NTR: Do you use Bare Minerals or similar? Recommend please.

Yup, this. It's a tad pricey but it lasts me a really long time. Also, I think its one of the only mineral makeups that are actually 100% minerals....a lot of the cheaper ones have additives in them. I will never wear liquid foundation again. Make sure you play around in the store (Sephora, Ulta, etc) to get the right shade for you though. If you are off a shade it will look horrible.
I just started using PurMinerals 4 in 1 https://www.purminerals.com/4-in-1-Pressed-Mineral-Makeup-Foundation-With-SPF-15 and love it. I was using MAC mileralize liquid foundation but I started breaking out. So far so good with Pur.
I've been using bare minerals for a couple years now and really like it.
Why not head to Sephora and let them try it out on you?

I've used Bare Escentuals for 8 years and I absolutely love it! Definitely the best foundation I've ever used. The initial cost is more expensive than drugstore make up, but the brushes are very durable and one jar of foundation lasts me months and months. If you branch into their blushes and eye shadows, those last me years. I have yet to empty a jar of blush or eye shadow!
If you are on the fence, try to visit one of their boutiques, or Ulta or Sephora. I think even some JCPenney's have Sephora counters now that carry BE. I believe QVC also offers a no questions asked return policy on their products.
Physicians Formula 3 piece mineral makeup kit comes with powder foundation, sheer mineral veil, and blush. It's $15 at Kroger and $19 at Walmart. Love, love, love it.
My only suggestion is that once you start using mineral foundation, you will most likely want to use some sort of makeup primer, which can also be pricey. However someone on this board suggested using monistat brand anti-chafing gel which is only like $6 a tube, and it works awesome!
I absolutely love Pur Minerals! It goes on so well and gives great coverage while still looking natural. I like that it's a pressed powder (I use the 4-in-1 stuff PP mentioned) vs. loose powder.
When I need a little extra glow, I use Physicians Formula bronzer and am happy with that. Got it on sale at CVS for around $7.

I've been using BM for about a year and a half, I love the fact that I don't have to use a liquid foundation. The "Warmth" bronzer is awesome!
However, I've noticed lately that the BM makes me shiny. Not oily, but I have a sheen to my face. I like the "glowing" look, but somehow the BM is making me too shiny lately, and I don't know why. I especially notice it in photos. (I have normal-to-dry skin.)
