NBR: I need award ideas for my students

I figured there are quite a few teachers/people that work with kids on here that can help.

I need to come up with approx. 12 awards (1 for each student) for those that are in my therapy group for kids with behavioral issues. They all have to be pretty much equal in status, positive and uplifting. I've got the basic - most improved, hardest worker, blah blah blah. But I need some more suggestions. I struggle because they really can't be 'joking' (like class clown or something like that) or 'for fun' type awards. They are very sensitive, and I'm not trying to get a chair thrown at me for trying to be funny. Big Smile

So let's hear your suggestions. TIA!

Re: NBR: I need award ideas for my students

  • Best Sense of Humor

    Most Positive Attitude

    Most Resilient?  Strongest?

    Best Listener

    Most Helpful

  • Do you have any who excel at certain subjects like science or language arts? I did some last year that had "Most Likely to Cure Cancer" and "Most Likely to Write a Best Selling Book" type of stuff. I'll see what else I can dig up.

I'm going to list yours plus the ones I can think of

    Most Improved
    Hardest Worker
    Most Organized
    Positive Role Model
    Most Helpful
    Best Listener

And then I couldn't come up with anymore.  You could do one of 2 things- give one to a male and a female...  or use this list I found (scroll to the bottom of the page) https://www.billybear4kids.com/show/awards/certificates.html

  • Great ideas, thanks ladies. Most Resilient is a perfect one since our theme for Mental Health Awareness Day was resiliency. Warrior - I like those ideas. It helps give the kids a positive outlook on their future, which most of them don't have right now. Thanks again!

  • I don't know if you've gotten a feel for this with the specific work you've done, but something like Most Creative or Most Artistic would work.  Most of the ones I've used with my students probably wouldn't apply here.  Most Helpful and Best Listener are good ones and would probably apply here.

Love them. Thank you. I especially like the Firecracker Award. I've got one student who fits that perfectly : )
