strange 6 weeks checkup and ? about first period

So I had my 6 week checkup today. He didn't do an internal or even look at my incision from my c-section. He just talked to me about my bp meds and birth control. At the end of the quick appt he told me I didn't need to come back in for 8-10 mos. Has anyone else had a 6 week checkup like this? I also forgot to ask when to expect my first period. I'm not bf and I just finished bleeding from delivery the other day. TIA and sorry about format but I'm bumping from my phone.

I would demand to see him again. I had an appointment a week after my c section to see how the incision was healing and today was my 6 week. The doctor checked to see everything was closed up internally, gave me a multiple choice test to see if I was at a risk for pp depression and talked about birth control. And aren't you supposed to see him sooner, your last pap was around August/September, right? Why is it 8-10 months?

I forgot to mention that I did see him a week after the c-section and he did check the incision then and I had another appt with him 2 weeks after that to check my bp. It is all very odd. I should have said something but I think I was in shock. Thanks for your response and making me feel like I'm not crazy.

Seems strange to me.  My doctor talked about bc too but also did an internal, checked my uterus, asked about my moods, did a breast exam and did a pap since my last one was almost a year ago.  You do what you feel comfortable doing but I'd probably want to go back or see someone else.
