Hi everyone!
Wondering what kinds of things you are doing with LO this summer? Are there any fun "indoor" places to visit or take toddlers of this age in Mesa/Phoenix area? My baby is 13 months now. Kinda dreading the summer because we wont be able to be outdoors as much.
Re: summer play areas
Ditto the Children's Museum. We also like the zoo splash area. It has misters for the adults who are sitting there also.
The indoor play grounds at the malls are nice too.
We have pretty much the whole EV mapped out by indoor play area
The malls have pretty good play spaces. I like to hit them before the mall opens so they aren't as crowded, especially because kids that are WAY too big tend to flock to them in the summers, and the little b@stards don't think twice about pushing a little kid out of their way. Going to the mall playgrounds are our favorite thing to do - we hit up the play space, then we hit up the food court for muffins and juice.
San Tan Village has a nice outdoor play area and a splash pad that are pretty well screened from the sun, and it's surprisingly comfortable to go there in the middle of the day during the summer.
The Arizona Museum for Youth in Mesa is fun to visit, and they have a great play area.
The Phoenix Children's Museum is GREAT, but it's usually packed and it's far from Mesa.
All of the libraries have story time appropriate for 1 yr olds, and many of the libraries have indoor play spaces too. We started going to story time the summer my kids were 1, and we still go as often as we can. It's a lot of fun
And I haven't been yet, but the City of Tempe has a very nice indoor pool, so you can take your LO swimming without frying your skin off.
